Joining the Fellowship

If you have visited several times and would like to join the Fellowship, you must subscribe to the Unitarian Universalist principles and sign the Membership Book. Membership does not require a "conversion" or a rejection of what you value from previous religious affiliations. Neither does it require agreement with a creed.

  • Because you feel more comfortable with a small group of people who you can know rather well than a large group where you feel anonymous.
  • Because you want to support liberal religion, religion which affirms reason, tolerance, honesty and compassion.
  • Because you will find the encouragement to pursue your own religious journey among like-minded people.
  • Because you want to be a full voting participant in congregational decisions and be eligible to serve on the Board and in other capacities.
  • Because you want to be part of the wider Unitarian Universalist community. Members receive The World, a bimonthly magazine published by the UUA.

By signing our membership book, you are simply indicating that you are in sympathy with our principles and wish to be part of our spiritual family. Until you are ready to join, you will be considered a "friend of the Fellowship." Friends may participate in all Fellowship activities.

For more information, contact our President or any Board of Trustees member. ___________________________________________________________________________

Participating in the Fellowship

All the work in our Fellowship is done by volunteers, so we ask everyone for assistance. The more involved you are, the more you gain!

We also need your financial support, and so you are encouraged to contribute to the collection basket on Sunday morning. During the summer of each year we conduct our Annual Commitment Drive asking for a written commitment of "time, talent, and treasure." Many members and some friends make commitments for the next twelve months.

No one is required to make a financial commitment. The Board does indicate what level of financial support is needed, but you alone determine the amount of your financial commitment, according to your priorities and economic circumstances. We don't want lack of money to prevent anyone from joining.
