Tesla Coil Base and Interconnect Details

This last page will cover details of the base and wiring details. I found the round bass at Home Depot. It is laminated with melamine and has a plastic bumper edge installed.

Here you can see one of the three casters, the filter panel in front of the NST. The underside of the Primary can be seen here suported by the three pvc pipes. Each pipe has a cap with a nylon bolt in the center which slips into holes in the primary disk. It is not fastened just gravity holds it in place. The wire is # 12 house wire with an extra insulation in the form of white drip tubing.

A similar view from slightly above showing the NST a bit better and the MMC on the right.

The reverse angle with the primary removed. The brass ribbon is the ground strap for the secondary. The wood braces support the base of the secondary. The plywood disk was added to decouple the secondary a bit. The pvc supports are mounted in scafold flanges.

This is the main ground connection. Yes it is out of focus... sorry. The smaller wires connect to the strike rail and the transformer case.

Here's the doubled up line filters. The line cord ground stops here.
