Produced in April and May 1993 at Zachary Scott Theatre in Austin, Texas. A Z-Edge co-production with the Subterranean Theatre Company, Big State Productions and Zachary Scott Theatre.
Directed by Jim Fritzler.
About the play
Arthur Kopit wrote this vicious satire of Hollywood in response to the New York production of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, which starred Madonna. "Nirvana" is a Madonna-like rock-star, and two producers will do anything--no kidding, anything--to get her in their next movie.
What the critics said . . .
"Promises a comedy with bite and delivers . . . the production works thanks to wonderfully vicious dialogue and effective actor interplay . . . nasty and truly funny."
Austin American Statesman
"I laughed at things normally too preposterous and painful to even contemplate. . . . Ouch! A biting comedy."
