About the play You wouldn't think that a play about a gentle woman dying of cancer could be quite so funny and tender, but it is. Sadly, playwright Scott McPherson died shortly after this play became a hit in New York. The film version starring Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep should be out in December 1996.
