Red
Haired Nude,
Acrylic and plaster on canvas, 20"W x 24"H
Red Haired Nude is the second use of this particular canvas, which was originally purchased in 1996. In 1996, Rick dipped pieces of string in several shades of paint and then pulled them across the canvas. He let the finished product sit in a closet until 1998.
In the fall of 1998, he plastered over the canvas to create this nude. In his original sketch, the figure stopped at the shoulders and there was no hair visible. This painting looked like that for several days, then he decided to add the red hair.
