Seat Drivers,
Watercolor on paper, 14"W x 10.5"H
Following his heart attack in May 1998, Rick continued physical therapy with the goal of gaining enough strength to commence a cardiac rehabilitation program. On July 24, 1998, he started the cardiac rehab program at St. David's Medical Center. He went three times per week for twelve weeks, "graduating" on October 16, 1998.
Rick completed and delivered four new pieces to Art Encounter on August 1, 1998: three watercolor pieces and one pen & ink. Back Seat Drivers is a watercolor piece that was probably inspired by Rick's two nephews, Austin and Tyler.
The watercolor piece, Busy City, was also delivered to the gallery on August 1st. It was purchased by a client in September 1998.
