Clothing

The Karankawa Indians decorated their face with tattoos. The woman wore skirts made out of deerskin and Spanish Moss. Also the married woman would paint themselves with stripes. During the summer ,the tribe wore little or no clothing. They would add other decoration to their forehead such as birds, flowers, or  animal to the stripes.

Location  

Five groups of Karankawas lived on the Gulf coast between Galveston and Corpus Christi. They were loosely organized in a very primitive culture and lived mostly as fishermen. There were not many Atakapans  perhaps never more than 3500 people. The Atakapans lived to the north of the Karankawas .
