Training & Instruction

You and your horse's comfort, health and happiness are #1 priority here at Phoenix Rising Equestrian Center .

It cannot be stated enough that not only are dressage horses elite athletes and must be physically cared for as athletes, they are also thinking, feeling, sensitive beings with emotions and concerns all their own. No two horses are just alike, neither physically or mentally. They all require customized care to meet each individual need.

Here at Phoenix Rising Equestrian Center we understand this well and stable only a small number of horses on the premises at one time so that each horse receives special treatment as if they are the only horse stabled here. Monitoring each horse this way enables them to learn and progress not only in a timely manner, but also with eagerness. Approaching dressage training as such is also of much importance to the long term health and happiness of your equine friend.

Dressage instruction is also addressed on an individual basis. Each horse and rider pair work towards their own set of personal goals, both short and long term. It must also be stated that dressage is not restricted to a certain body type of rider or breed of horse. The word “dressage” comes from the French word, Dressur which simply means “to train”. Not only does Megan have 8 years of experience training Iberian horses for competitive dressage, she also has just as many years experience working with a variety of breeds. Quarter horses, Paints, Arabians, Morgans, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Saddlebreds, and Draft crosses are also some of the breeds Megan has worked with throughout the years.

If you have an open mind, strong work ethic, and a willing horse there is no limit what can be achieved with a little bit of time and careful instruction!

Phoenix Rising Equestrian center is currently accepting two and four legged students for 45 to 60 minute sessions between the hours of 11am to 7pm weekdays and between the hours of 10am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Lessons are taught here at Phoenix Rising Equestrian Center in Georgetown , Texas in a 20m X 60m regulation size lighted dressage arena. Footing is a sand/rubber mix that is ready to ride in no matter how wet or dry the weather may be. Recently added is a circular driveway which will allow most large sized trailers to easily turn around.

Currently there is a waiting list for accepting equines in training. Please contact management if you are interested in placing your horse on this list. Also visit the horses for sale page while you're here
