I have only built 2 sets of quality speakers, so far (another design is in the works). Anyone who believes that building a set of good speakers is an easy feat (forget about the wood-working), is in for a rude awakening or a terrible sound. I couldn't begin to beleve what I was reading when I started into the speaker builder books. How hard could it be to bolt a couple of drivers into a box and put a couple of resistors/capacitors and some wire together? Well I want to tell you.... It's a lot of REAL HARD WORK!! There are several links below, that I used (and want to thank dearly) to build my Mondo Home Speakers. Mondo for the sound quality (and the price), not the size. I will be posting the plans for them and some pictures here when I get my Digital Color Camera (the wife has already agreed to it, I think).

A quick description of my home speakers: they are a a pair of 3 cubic foot boxes (Red Oak), 3-way design, with a pair of 8" Peerless 4ohm woofers, in series; a 5" Vifa Mid (sweet sound) and an MCM Soft Dome Tweeter. The cross-over is at 500hz and 5.5khz. They will handle about 300w peak, 150w continuous (very conservative ratings, I think).
