Topics include:

Dr. Guzmán will discuss the basics of the Hero and the Journey (based on Christopher Vogler book "The Writer's Journey") and how these time-tested story techniques influenced two of her children's books: Lorenzo and the Turncoat and Kichi in Jungle Jeopardy.

To get the most out of this seminar, attendees can go to: http://www.lilaguzman.com and print out the first chapters of these two books and bring those pages to the seminar.

Bring paper, an Alpha-Smart, or a personal battery-powered laptop for note-taking. Electrical outlets are scarce in the conference room.

Download the Registration Form. Space is limited. Send in your registration before June 14th with a $35 check or money order to reserve your space, payable to: CenTex Chapter, ACFW. The $35 fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and all handouts. The conference is fragrance free. Please do not wear perfume, cologne, powders, or strong hand or body lotions.

Dr. Guzmán will be at the Barnes & Noble in the La Frontera Shopping Centerin Round Rock (2701 Parker Road, Bldg. A., Suite 700) for a book signing Friday evening, June 13th, 7-9 p.m.

Two free author visits to area schools will be given away by Dr. Guzmán at the book signing. Schools must be within 30 miles of Round Rock.

Vouchers, which applies to all purchases except gift cards and readers' advantage cards, are available by email. A percentage of purchases will be dontated to the CenTex Chapter of ACFW.

Last spring Linworth Publishing submitted her name to be included in Thompson Gale's Contemporary Authors series for 2008. Gale's is a standard bearer in academic and school libraries. The online database version is available and the print version will be available in libraries in the near future.
