A BOYHOOD HOBBY THAT JUST GROWED.......
In 1979, after many years of collecting toy soldiers, I began producing conversions of American dimestore-style figures, the "Five & Dime Corps" line, with me styled as Corps Commandant, and swapping with friends for pieces I lacked. Subsidiaries were "Out 'n Out Repros", reproductions of rare dimestore soldiers. All of the Five & Dime Corps and Out 'n Out Repro molds were sold to Eccles Bros. Ltd. in September 2001 (ecclesbros@aol.com).
"Commandant Miniatures", a series of tanks, vehicles and soldiers seated for motor transport compatible with Britains Ltd. 54mm scale was started in 1992. Since my semi-retirement, I have been selling the Commandant Miniatures line and pieces from my collection of toy soldiers and accessories, old and new, by mail and at shows. Then I discovered the internet...
NET SALES
Some of my Commandant Miniatures sales have been via the internet, and my catalog can be accessed by the links below. For those folks who may have trouble accessing, I can send a version printed at Kinko's in return for a large stamped, self-addressed envelope.
Since August '99, I've been selling some of my collection of original old military toys via eBay which meant mastering that system together with digital photography. It's been challenging, and sometimes frustrating, but fun.
