Background Information-

A young fawn's survival depends on lying quietly - not by drawing attention to itself. If a crying fawn attracts you - something is wrong: the doe is dead, the fawn is starving or hurting, or perhaps, a predator such as a dog or fox is nearby. This cry is a loud bleating - calling for mom to come quickly.
