CDV-700 Replacement Probe

 Maintenance-Ops Manual for  Victoreen CDV-715 Survey Meter
NOTE- The CDV-715 is NOT a geiger counter.  It does not have a geiger tube. It
uses an ionization chamber in non-geiger mode.
It is about 1000 times LESS sensitive than a geiger counter.
These units are being listed on eBay as geiger counters which is a mis-nomer.
If you can't get your CDV715 needle to move try a post-nuclear blast environment.
If it does move...you are in a dangerous radiation field!

Precision Model 111b Scintillator schematic
I will pay you $15 cash for your old dead yellow 111b scintillator crystal...email me.

A tip on measuring your 111b HV:  The voltage across R2 multiplied by 2641 will be your HV value.
You can measure this with a 10 Meg DVM with minimal error because R2 is 100K ohms. This value
is typically about 0.400 volts so it's fairly safe as well!
