Dad went to Miami, and left me at home with Mom, my brothers, and sister. Dad stopped by Parrot Jungle and took some photos. It isunfortunate but he had a cheap disposable camera so most of the pictures did not come out very well. The Parrot Jungle had many different birds including many species of macaws. Dad does not like to advertise on my site, but the birds seemed well cared for and a place like parrot jungle is a n opportunity for non-bird people to see and interact with many types of birds.
Dad arrived at Parrot Jungle just as they were closing the entrancean hour before closing. He did not get to see much of the trainedbird show. He did get to see an amazon parrot singing a song, anda short show with a macaw sliding down poles etc. He noticed therewere small bicycles and slides for the parrots to ride.
Most cages had two and sometimes more birds to keep each other company. Each cage had a clean water and food bowl. The cages had a cover with a whole in part of it so the birds could get wetor escape the rain if they wanted.
There were gumball type machines which dispensed sunflower seeds allover the park. Dad fed many of the birds which were very tame. Eventhe big macaw were very gentle. Many of the birds would talk or sing for a small nut.
There were many types of macaws including: Blue and Gold, Scarlet, Hyancinth, Blue Troated, Military, Severe, Red bellied, and of course birds like me ... Yellow Collared.
Here is a cage full of birds just like me:
