Welcome to Johnny and Karen Jo Agnello's Home Page.

We are building the site and will be adding more wedding pictures soon.  Click on a thumb nail for a larger image.  These have all been reduced for the webpage.  If anybody would like a unreduced copy of any picture, please email me at kjagnello@austin.rr.com.  If you have any pictures that you took, I would love to have copies!!!

April 13, 2002.  We were married at the Winedale Historical Museum, Theater Barn, near Roundtop, TX.  My family had been going there for years to see Shakespeare plays every summer and is equipped with fans, lighting, and a stage.   I owe a huge debt to my bridesmaids who spent the entire day before the ceremony helping me decorate the barn.  I had chosen purple flowers and ribbons for the stage area and a bluebonnet theme for the reception area.  Lynne's mother had come along to help care for Lynne's new baby.  MaryAnn ended up being a wonderful asset with her creative input!!!  Many of Johnny' sisters finished up the outside decorations the morning of the ceremony.  I also owe thanks to a friend of mine, Kim Kruckenberg who helped me make all the floral arrangements.

DURING THE CEREMONY:  My friend Lauren is a photographer.  Though she does not do portraits or weddings professionally, she offered to do mine as a favor.  The 290 construction that delayed many of my guests, delayed her as well and she missed the ceremony.  However, she came just in time to do all the staged shots of the wedding party and family!! Fortunately, several guests sent their pictures of the ceremony as well as two of my friends with digital cameras.

Before the ceremony started, Pacobel Canon in D played while Johnny's mom, Nell, and Karen Jo's dad, John, lit the candelabra.  The bridal party marched into  "A little Night Music".  The flower girls came down the aisle in the traditional manner.  The ring bearer and Johnny came in from the balcony and down the stairs on the right of the stage.  The groomsmen led the brides matrons in from the upper balcony and then they split to each come down stairs on each side of the stage.  My father led me across the balcony and down the stairs to meet the judge and Johnny on the stage.  As the ceremony ended, we all marched out the front in the traditional manner.

WEDDING PARTY:  My party consisted of my best friends- Alyson Hoyle, Kady Hoyle, and Lynne Thompson. I was very lucky that Lynne and her family were able to come in from California after just having a baby 4 months earlier.  Each of my bridesmaids have three children.  I asked each of their youngest to be in the party.  Lynne's daughter, Johanna, and Kady's daughter, Amber, were the flower girls.  Both of the girls have taken quite a fancy to uncle Johnny.  Alyson's son, Daniel, was the ring bearer.  He was the model of decorum throughout the ceremony and the pictures!!!  Johnny chose his brother Lebon and his cousins  Johnny B. and Lebon.

FAMILY PHOTOS:  I was very fortunate that my grandmother, who lives in Detroit, was visiting my father in Arizona and they both flew to Texas while my brother drove in from Arizona.  My maternal grandmother in Dallas came down with my aunt and uncle, while my dad's sister, Linda, lived nearby in Austin.  while my recently deceased mother was not there, I had mementos of hers with me.  Johnny's family on the other hand spans the state.  We were even lucky enough to have his sister Jana and Fritz fly in from Nevada.  I am sure that 3/4th of the guests were from his family!!!

AFTER THE CEREMONY: My uncle, Greg, is a chef and made all my cakes- CHEESECAKE!!!.  He designed the main cake with bluebonnets on it.  One other had a glaze made from dewberries Johnny and I had picked. He also made a turtle flavored one.  I owe tremendous thanks to my aunt Miriam and Greg for all the wonderful work they did preparing all my food and displaying everything so beautifully. The wine glasses were are holding, were hand painted with bluebonnets and we also a gift from Miriam and Greg.  A friend of ours is a very good dancer.  He spent a Saturday teaching us how to waltz.  We chose a tune called "Lover's Waltz" and we glided across the floor never taking our eyes off of each other.

PSEUDO-HONEYMOON:  Johnny and I decided to save our money and take a trip to the Caribbean next year.  This weekend we headed off to the Texas coast.  On the way we found the perfect patch of bluebonnets waiting for us.  Johnny has adamantly stated that men do NOT sit in bluebonnets!!!
