Rue is an action packed Catahoula Louisiana Leopard Dog!

Rue (affectionately called Bubby -- short for Bubba) is a bundle of explosive energy. He is always on the alert for tree hopping squirrels, deer grazing close to our fence or a bouncing KONG! The kong is the ultimate toy that bounces just crazy.





There's nothing as refreshing as a quick dip in the washtub when chasing the kong.



Sometimes Rue dresses up in war paint. (Actually some squished bugs on a plant he was investigating.)



Bubby also has a killer smile that stretches from ear to ear when he's having fun.



Since Bubby is deaf, he fetches by watching very closely with his glass blue eyes.




He also keeps close tabs on his sister.


Catahoulas are very interesting dogs. Bubby carries the merle gene which causes his white coat and his deafness, while at the same time he also has very strong instincts for herding and protection. We are always learning something new from him.
